Japan Kart offers a unique go-kart experience on public roads in Tokyo and Osaka, where you can drive through iconic neighborhoods like Asakusa, Akihabara, and Shibuya. As long as you meet the requirements such as holding an international driver’s permit, anyone can join. A detailed driving briefing is provided beforehand, making it safe even for beginners. You can rent a costume to wear while driving, making your ride even more memorable and attention-grabbing. Feel free to take photos or videos at sightseeing spots along the route—perfect for capturing unforgettable memories. This is an ideal activity for travelers looking for a sightseeing experience unlike any other.

What to Expect on Your Japan Kart Tour

The process is safe, simple, and designed for maximum fun. An experienced guide leads the way in a separate vehicle, ensuring your group stays together and navigates traffic smoothly.

  1. Check-In: Arrive about 10 minutes early to present your valid driver’s license and get a briefing on the tour and safety rules.
  2. Choose Your Costume: This is half the fun! Pick from a huge variety of character costumes to wear on your drive. Changing facilities are available on-site.
  3. Hit the Road: Hop into your custom-designed go-kart and follow your guide. You’ll drive on the left side of the road through some of the most famous streets and districts in Japan.
  4. Photo Stops: The tour includes stops at iconic landmarks like Osaka Castle, the Tokyo Tower, or the Shibuya Crossing, where your guide will take awesome commemorative photos for you.
  5. Return to Base: After your thrilling ride, you’ll head back to the starting point to return your costume and kart.
